Gadchiroli, 13 December :- A police constable working at Mulchera police station in the district died of a heart attack. The name of the deceased jawan is Ramesh Bahirewar (aged 43 years). Ramesh Bahirewar is a resident of Thakri in Chamorshi taluka of Gadchiroli district and was working as a police constable in Mulchera police station. He had a massive heart attack. With the help of Superintendent of Police Nilotpal Basu, he was taken to Nagpur within minutes with the help of a chopper. He breathed his last on the third day while undergoing treatment.

Bahirewar suffered a sudden heart attack on December 9 in the morning. On getting information about this, Thanedar of Mulchera Ashok Bhapkar admitted Ramesh Bahirewar to the rural hospital of Mulchera for treatment. However, medical officers referred for further treatment after health examination. Police Inspector Ganesh Kad and other employees made special efforts to shift them to Gadchiroli immediately, but seeing their pain, Thanedar Ashok Bhapkar contacted District Superintendent of Police Nilotpal and gave detailed information. He immediately decided to send a chopper meant for the district police force to Mulchera. The patient was brought to the helipad on oxygen. However, the soldier could not bear the pain due to chest pain. In this case, the medical officers made special efforts to reach the patient to Nagpur after consulting the experts. Medicines required for this were ordered from Ashti Rural Hospital. Immediately, Ashti Police Inspector Kundan Gawde sent the medicine in a four-wheeler in just 12 minutes, and the patient was transferred to Orange City Hospital in Nagpur after giving an injection. Meanwhile, Additional Superintendent of Police Anuj Tare and Sub Divisional Police Officer Amol Thackeray were constantly in touch with Thanedar Ashok Bhapkar. Doctors also operated on him. He breathed his last on the third day while the treatment was going on. Ramesh Bahirewar is survived by his mother, father, wife and two daughters. Not only the Bahirewar family, but the entire district police force has been mourned by his passing.
